Crown and Anchor

CROWN & ANCHOR

In medieval England and Europe there were many dice game of chance the lot of them being refereed to a lotto games.  The rolling of 3 dice and losing if the roll is less then 10 or doubling if it is 10 and above was one such variant. In this game one person would be the banker, one other person would roll and if the roller rolled 10 or over he would be the roller again but if he rolled below 10  he would pass the dice. The banker changed for every single roll.
One game evolved and continues today in England and has its own society even that is Crown and Anchor. in stead of the 6 sided dice having 1 though 6 on them they have the 4 french card suits and a Crown and Anchor on them. This same game can be played with regular 1 through 6 dice.
How to play Crown and Anchor
One person is declared the banker, this position changes after each roll.
One person is declared the 1st roller.
the 1st roller and all other players except the banker place one coin on a spot on the board (Ante)
The roller then rolls all 3 dice.
If a bet matches the dice payout is as such.
1 Matched # - each winner receivers 1 coin given plus their original bet
2 Matched # - each winner receivers 2 coin given plus their original bet
3 Matched # - each winner receivers 3 coin given plus their original bet
All non-winning bets go to the banker.
If the roller’s bet won, they get to roll again. If not, they pass the dice to the next roller.
The banker passes to the next player.
Note: The banker cannot also be the roller. If this occurs during play the dice skip over the banker to the next roller.
SCA polite game table rules: Banker and roller switch after each roll. When the banker position has reached all the way around the table once that is a full round of the game.
Odds of winning chart, switch $1 for, 1 coin, or 1 bet, since in the SCA we don't use money to game with.

2 color hand stamped board with had burned wood dice on natural canvas by me

Board is designed to be able to fold up with the dice in the
center, there is enough room for a small purse of coins as well
when rolled up with the dice inside the loop
can then be wrapped around the bundle
for easy transport.

I have been thinking of making a new board that has
suits and Roman Numeral I am still thinking on it.
